CARLOS YORK :: Music Expert
Last night I had the pleasure of attending my first Felabration here in Atlanta, GA. I must say it was an out-of-body experience. The iconoclast of whom I’m speaking of is the musician and the founder of Afrobeat, Fela Kuti. His influence can be heard in the music of artists such as: Common, Jay- Z and the late great J Dilla. To document Fela’s impact and musical genuis is a task all of its own, but this documentary chronicles Fela Kuti’s life as a musician, political activist and as the man many have grown to love.
