Always in Good Taste
JENERO DERIO :: Etiquette Expert
You’re invited to breakfast, brunch, or a dinner engagement, don’t arrive empty handed. It’s always in good taste to show thoughtfulness and appreciation towards the host for extending an invitation to you.
Keep in mind that everyone is not a wine drinker, so you need to know what to carry, which shows that you’re a man of style.
Here are a few tips that will keep you on the invitational roster.
1: Inquire if your host is a (white or red) wine drinker; Opt for a quality riesling, chardonnay, zinfandel or merlot.
2: Sparkling non-alcoholic drinks in sophisticated bottles; Visit your local grocery or package store.
3: Deserts are a good choice. Only those freshly baked from the bakery. Not those sweets sitting on the table that may have sat there all week. Freshness affects taste.
4: A bouquet of flowers. No roses!
Showing up with a token of appreciation, in hand, along with respectable behavior is always in good taste. Buenisimo!
